Credibility Matters in Santa Cruz Real Estate

Hyko Roppel July 17, 2012

When buying and selling a Santa Cruz home, it is important to trust the real estate team that will represent you, from your real estate agent to the escrow officer and mortgage consultant. Checking on certifications or credentials can bring peace of mind and help you as a consumer feel more secure.  The proper credentials and a strong professional knowledge base will also allow your real estate transaction to flow more smoothly.

Perhaps you found Serving Santa Cruz County real estate team through a referral from a friend or neighbor, so feel like you are in safe hands–that’s great! However, even with the best recommendations, it’s still wise to be aware of credentials, distinctions and designations that help to develop a real estate agent’s integrity and credibility. Through your discovery, you may even become aware of additional tools that I can offer to you, along with feeling like you and your property needs are in capable hands.

Local Knowledge

Possibly the most important thing you should be aware of is my knowledge of the Santa Cruz area. I call La Selva Beach my home and my office is on the border of Capitola and Santa Cruz. I know all about the individual areas that create Santa Cruz, as you’ll notice on my Community Pages and my social media pages. I am active in my local community and can provide you with a list of referrals, from satisfied customers to service providers. Use the pages of my website, like the about page or specific community pages, as tools to give you information about the community, but also about me as a professional and my knowledge of the local area and the real estate industry at large.

Real Estate Credentials

I hold several designations that are valuable in the field of real estate. In addition to being a licensed Real Estate Agent, as a REALTOR®,  I am sworn to abide by strict industry standards and a code of ethics. The title also indicates that I am a member of the National Association of Realtors (NAR).

I am also a Seniors Real Estate Specialist® or SRES® designee which gives me the knowledge and expertise to counsel clients aged 50+ through the major financial and lifestyle transitions involved in relocating, refinancing or selling their family home.

Since the Santa Cruz real estate market involves a large number of short sale and bank-owned properties, I have certified myself as a Shortsale and Foreclosure Resource Short Sale Expert through the National Association of REALTORS. This designation means that I am thoroughly prepared to assist you in qualifying to short sale your Santa Cruz County home through the Home Affordable Foreclosure Alternatives or HAFA Program.
